Kiashan King, has been dedicated to the field of education for 19 yrs. She was born and raised in Dallas, TX and attended Dallas ISD schools in the Kimball Feeder Pattern, but later graduated high school at DeSoto High School before enlisting into the United State Army and receiving and honorable discharge in 2008.
 
Ms. King earned her BS in Telecommunication Management from DeVry University in Irving, TX and later entered the alternative certification program at Louisiana State University at Shreveport while teaching 2nd and 3rd Grade at Atkins Elementary in Shreveport, Louisiana in 2003. After returning to Dallas in 2007, Ms. King served as a substitute teacher while scouting a school in Dallas ISD to continue her educational journey. Ms. King found her teaching home at Salazar Elementary teaching 4th and 5th grade Math. While serving at Salazar Ms. King was lead into leadership and completed her Masters in Educational Leadership at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX in 2013.
 
Ms. King started her administrative journey at John Neely Bryan as an Assistant Principal and later was selected as Principal of S.S. Conner Elementary were she has passionately served for the past 10 yrs. Under Ms. King’s leadership, S.S. Conner has been recognized for academic excellence by the Texas Education Agency and she been nominated for Principal of the Year in 2019 and 2022 for the Skyline Feeder Pattern.
 
Ms. King believes all scholars can learn by creating an environment for them to thrive through cultivating a culture collaboration, equity, and data driven instructional programs. She is a proud mom of two, a daughter, sister, and friend that is enjoying an empty nest, likes music, and is looking forward traveling with friends and family in the near future.
